Aaron Garcia is an award winning Latinx Film Editor & Director and has been working in theater, film and television for over 15 years.
During his undergraduate studies at UCLA TFT, he met Jose Luis Valenzuela and began writing and devising new original theater productions with the Latino Theater Company. Producing plays such as MELANCHOLIA (2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival), THE VAULT: UNLOCKED (2011 LATC), and THE VAULT: BANKRUPT (2012 LATC). During these projects Aaron learned the importance and power of cultural authenticity in storytelling.
As a Filmmaker, his aims are crystal clear: telling culturally authentic stories that celebrate our differences and aim to connect audiences to a simple truth, we are all human.
Aaron has edited acclaimed projects like ABRAZO (2023), LA CAMPANA (2021), and CHALINO (2019), which showcased his editing talents at international and Latinx Film Festivals.
Aaron Michael has been an Assistant Editor for several Emmy-winning shows like THE MORNING SHOW, LIONESS, THIS IS US, and MIRACLE WORKERS; and feature films HALF BROTHERS and MURDER AT YELLOWSTONE CITY.
LOVE DOLL (2022) was his debut as a feature film editor; and he is currently editing a feature length music documentary called “My BFF” which explores the link between creativity and mental health and a sci-fi romantic comedy short “In The Static”.
